Dawson joined VentureSouth in September 2022 as an Analyst. In this role, he helps manage deal flow and due diligence. He also supports other areas of VentureSouth, including assisting with investor relations. Prior to joining VentureSouth, Dawson spearheaded the establishment of Jacobs Engineering's corporate venture arm and invested over $10 million in startups. Additionally, he managed the early-stage portfolio for RingCentral's corporate venture fund.
Dawson graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor's degree in Corporate Finance and Entrepreneurship. In 2024, he launched his own venture capital newsletter, ‘Fishing in Venture,’ where he merges his passion for fly fishing and the great outdoors with the world of venture capital.
