Caroline joined VentureSouth in 2017 with the role of Controller. As a key team member, Caroline is responsible for financial tasks, including accounting entry & reporting, banking transactions, bank reconciliation, invoicing, and member distributions. She works closely with the managing directors to ensure that all investments across multiple entities are meticulously accounted for and that the financials remain buttoned-up.
Before her time at VentureSouth, Caroline pursued her B.S. in Marketing from the University of South Carolina, Columbia. Her professional journey began with Marketing Research at Liberty Life Insurance Company. However, she transitioned into a different phase of life as a stay-at-home mother, during which she volunteered in various capacities within the community. Additionally, Caroline managed the accounting side of her family business, gaining invaluable expertise with QuickBooks that later led her to assist other small companies with their accounting needs and ultimately to VentureSouth.
